Adopt a family of the National Guardsman who has been deployed overseas. Contact the commander of a unit in your area/state to get names of families, listed in acordance to their order of needs.
Ideas: gifts, groceries, cash, gift cards (Wal-Mart, Target), etc. Do before Christmas, or adopt for the entire year.
